Review Meeting for Anti-Polio Campaign in Mianwali District
A review meeting regarding the five-day anti-polio campaign, set to begin on December 16, was held at the MS Office, Tehsil Hospital Kalabagh. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Masood Ahmed Qureshi, MS Tehsil Hospital Kalabagh, and Dr. Sarwar Ali, Deputy DHQ Officer, Tehsil Isa Khel.
Participants in the Meeting: The meeting was attended by officials from the Health Department, MC Kalabagh, teachers, members of the business community, and other key personalities.
Briefing on the Polio Campaign: Dr. Masood Ahmed, Dr. Sarwar Ali, and Focal Person Saadullah Sabtain Paracha briefed the attendees on the details of the anti-polio campaign. They informed that the campaign in the district will run from December 16 to December 20.
Training and Security Measures:
- The training of polio workers in Tehsil Isa Khel has been completed.
- Training sessions for polio teams have also been conducted at the Union Council level.
- Security will be provided to polio teams working in mountainous areas to ensure their safety.
Target and Importance of the Campaign: The campaign aims to vaccinate 90,000 children under the age of five across the Tehsil. Dr. Masood and Dr. Sarwar emphasized that it is crucial for parents to recognize their responsibility in preventing lifelong disability for their children by ensuring that children under five receive the polio vaccine.
