The Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission has officially commenced the construction of Chashma Nuclear Power Plant Unit-5 (C-5) in Mianwali.

- Attended by Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong, and other dignitaries.
- Minister Ahsan Iqbal emphasized the significance of C-5 as a symbol of Pak-China friendship, highlighting its role in creating thousands of jobs and providing affordable, clean electricity to the national grid.
- C-5 will be Pakistan’s largest and most advanced nuclear power plant, adding 1200 MW to the grid and increasing the country’s nuclear energy capacity to 4760 MW.
