The Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission has officially commenced the construction of Chashma Nuclear Power Plant Unit-5 (C-5) in Mianwali.

- Attended by Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong, and other dignitaries.
- Minister Ahsan Iqbal emphasized the significance of C-5 as a symbol of Pak-China friendship, highlighting its role in creating thousands of jobs and providing affordable, clean electricity to the national grid.
- C-5 will be Pakistan’s largest and most advanced nuclear power plant, adding 1200 MW to the grid and increasing the country’s nuclear energy capacity to 4760 MW.
The project aligns with Pakistan’s vision of becoming a techno-economy, fostering socio-economic development through sustainable and economical energy solutions.
