Meeting of District Welfare and Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons Committee Held Under ADCG Salman Ahmed Loon District Mianwali.
A meeting of the District Welfare and Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons Committee was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner General (ADCG) Salman Ahmed Loon in the Committee Room of the DC Office. The meeting was attended by Dr. Malik Muhammad Nasir, Deputy Director of Social Welfare, along with officers from other relevant departments.
Key issues discussed included:
- Implementation of the 3% quota for the recruitment of disabled individuals.
- Distribution of Himmat Cards.
- Provision of travel card facilities for persons with disabilities.
In his address, ADCG Salman Ahmed Loon emphasized that the Government of Punjab is taking significant steps for the welfare of special persons. He directed private organizations to ensure strict adherence to the 3% employment quota for disabled individuals.
He also instructed Social Welfare Department officers to ensure the implementation of the recently increased travel allowance for persons with disabilities. Furthermore, he emphasized the provision of ramps and accessible washrooms for disabled individuals in all offices.
Deputy Director of Social Welfare, Dr. Malik Muhammad Nasir, shared that 1,871 Himmat Cards have already been distributed among special persons in the district. He also highlighted the regular organization of assessment boards for disabled persons across all three tehsils of District Mianwali.
