Punjab Food Authority Mianwali Cracks Down on Health Hazard Elements
In line with the directives of Deputy Commissioner Khalid Javed, the Punjab Food Authority Mianwali team has intensified inspections across the district over the past week. The initiative aims to combat elements detrimental to public health by monitoring various food businesses, including hotels, grocery stores, food points, meat shops, milk shops, and sweet manufacturing units.
During the inspections, checkpoints were established at Mianwali’s entry and exit points to examine milk transported via vehicles and motorcycles. A total of 21,280 liters of milk was inspected.
Key actions taken under Punjab Food Authority regulations include:
- Disposal of 36 kg of contaminated pickles
- Destruction of 30 liters of substandard milk
- Elimination of 44 kg of expired noodles
- Confiscation of 27.5 kg of prohibited food items
- Removal of 11.5 kg of various expired food items
- Disposal of 1.5 kg of expired spices
- Elimination of 4.8 kg of expired tea
- Disposal of 13 liters of expired beverages
Additionally, a cumulative fine of Rs. 215,000 was imposed on violators. The Punjab Food Authority Mianwali remains committed to ensuring public health and safety through stringent enforcement of food safety standards.
