Punjab Food Authority Mianwali Intensifies Crackdown on Health Hazardous Elements
In line with the directives of Deputy Commissioner Khalid Javed Goraya, the Punjab Food Authority Mianwali team conducted inspections across the district over the past week. The inspections targeted various food businesses, including hotels, grocery stores, food points, meat shops, dairy shops, and confectionery factories, to ensure public health safety.
During the operations, checkpoints were set up at entry and exit points in Mianwali to inspect vehicles transporting milk. A total of 23,020 liters of milk was checked. As a result of these inspections:
- 130 liters of substandard milk,
- 44 kilograms of expired vermicelli,
- 30 kilograms of prohibited food items,
- 4.8 kilograms of various adulterated food items,
- 14 kilograms of expired spices, and
- 3.5 kilograms of substandard lentils
were destroyed.
Additionally, fines amounting to Rs. 214,000 were imposed under Punjab Food Authority regulations to ensure compliance and deter future violations. The Punjab Food Authority remains committed to safeguarding public health in Mianwali.
