Meeting on Encroachments Held at Union Council Office Wan Bhachran, Mianwali
On the directives of Deputy Commissioner Mianwali, Khalid Javed Goraya, notices were issued to encroachers in Wan Bhachran. Following this, a meeting was convened today at the Union Council Office, Wan Bhachran, under the chairmanship of Assistant Commissioner Mianwali, Murad Hussain Nikokara.
The meeting was attended by a large number of representatives from the Anjuman Tajiran (Traders’ Association) and street vendors. Key officials present included the Chief Officer District Council Mianwali, SHO Wan Bhachran Police Station, Assistant Director Local Government, SDO Highways, and Assistant Food Controller.
Key Discussions and Decisions
Assistant Commissioner Murad Hussain and the Chief Officer District Council emphasized that the purpose of holding this meeting was to urge all encroachers to voluntarily remove their encroachments. It was clearly stated that any shopkeeper with encroachments in front of their shop, whether on service roads or footpaths, would face legal action along with the encroacher.
Alternative Arrangements for Street Vendors
To address the issue of street vendors, the District Council has ordered the cleaning of its own designated plot, which will be allocated as an alternative location for vendors. If vendors fail to shift to this new location, strict legal action will be taken against them in the coming days.
This initiative aims to ensure smooth pedestrian movement and maintain public spaces for their intended use.
